Trends in ANPP Response to Temperature in Wetland Meadows across a Subcontinental Gradient in Patagonia

Due to ongoing global warming, seasonal patterns of aboveground net primary production (ANPP) may be altered by temperature trends. Of particular interest is the association between ANPP and at beginning growing season (the period encompassing minimum maximum ANPP), where two contrasting mechanisms are in tension. On one hand, restrictions exerted low temperatures winter relaxed, increasing slope over years. other increases increase water demand, reducing time. Across 543 wetland meadow areas Patagonia, we estimated obtained records on a monthly basis from 2001 2019. The temperature, tested through linear regression, was statistically significant 96% cases (9921/10317 (543 × 19 seasons)). fitted models explained, average, 84% (June–December) variations. Through regression trees, found out that mechanisms, relaxation restriction showed clear spatial patterns. due took place higher latitudes, but water-limiting mechanism increased mid-latitude areas.
